Being punks from small towns in NZ, Suicide Dogs can identify with the feeling of fighting a battle that seems impossible to win. "Caked with distortion and decorated with the kind of vocal anger that has made punk such a force.” - Groove Guide

"A snarling amalgam of classically robust punk rock arrangements and grim lyrical narratives all delivered with the required nihilistic attitude. Caked with distortion and decorated with the kind of vocal anger that has made punk such a force.”
- Groove Guide

During the Great War the Allies employed a bold tactic: dogs carrying explosives strapped to their backs were trained to hide under enemy tanks. While this wasn't always successful in destroying the opposition, the dogs were almost always killed. Being punks from small towns in NZ, Suicide Dogs can identify with the feeling of fighting a battle that seems impossible to win.

Drawing influence from bands such as The Clash, Ramones and Social Distortion, Suicide Dogs' fusion of in-your-face punk rock n' roll anthems, old school hardcore and hard-riffing rockabilly never fail to fire up a crowd. Passion leaps from the stage into the audience [or, from the CD into your ears!] and you know you're part of something special.

Their 100% self-funded, self-made and independently released debut album 'Breakin' Away' was recorded at Puppy Killer Records World HQ with Dave Hine [Missing Teeth, Poisoners] behind the desk. 16 tracks of angst-fuelled rock presented in a wicked digipak for a cheap-as-a-bottle-of-cider price – the D.I.Y. ethos turned.

Despite their short existence they've played with overseas heroes Against Me and The Bouncing Souls, while having also shared the stage with NZ punk stalwarts Sticky Filth, The Bleeders, City Newton Bombers and Missing Teeth.
