Electrelane are a band with a relatively long history - three albums 'Rock It To The Moon' '01, 'The Power Out' '04, 'Axes' '05 and an EP in '02 'I Want To Be The President' as well as several singles over 6 years - yet their consistently uncompromising attitude and ability to release outstandingly fresh and unique records has kept them somewhat an enigma.

'Singles, B-Sides and Live' is not only a celebration of Electrelane's diverse work but also the first time that rare, non-album tracks have been available on one compilation. This collection includes limited 7” releases from Fierce Panda and Indenial as well as singles released on Electrelane's own label Let's Rock, before signing to present label Too Pure in '03.

Additionally, 'Singles, B-Sides and Live' includes b-sides [ !! ], rare, alternative versions of album tracks, as well as several stunning live recordings, from shows played in London and San Francisco.

Electrelane formed in early '98, in drummer Emma Gaze's bedroom. Originally based in Brighton, they released their first single, 'Film Music', on Skint's Indenial offshoot. Last year, Rachel Dalley left and was replaced by old friend and bassist, Ros Murray, who is joined by Verity Susman, Mia Clarke and Emma Gaze in the band. Between them, they play piano, organ, harmonium, saxophone, guitar, bass, banjo, cello and drums, living variously in Berlin, the Czech Republic, London and Brighton.
