"Capturing all the magical madness associated with the first warm days of spring, Georgia Anne Muldrow's 'Olesi' brims with so much optimism and anxious energy that it barely contains itself." - NPR

"This is my favourite album of the moment. To label her solely as 'Neo-soul' would do her a huge injustice; Georgia probably needs her own genre! An artist to watch."
-ANNA

Anna's top tracks:
"Wrong Way" + "Melanin'".

"Georgia is seriously multi-talented… she stays with the soulfulness while turning left in beatland."
-Turntablelab.com

"Her assimilation of classic soul, jazz and hip-hop is innovative… Chaka Khan produced by J-Dilla!"
-OtherMusicNYC

Georgia Anne Muldrow is one of Stones Throw Records newest signings and is the only female signed to the label - home to the likes of Madlib, J Dilla, Aloe Blacc, Peanut Butter Wolf and Georgia's husband Dudley Perkins.

Inspired by solid '70s soul, free jazz and a bottom-heavy hip-hop thump - and as heard on her appearances on albums from fellow forward-funk pioneers Sa-Ra and Platinum Pied Pipers - this native Californian paints a unique musical canvas.

So it's no wonder the underground is stopping to gaze and take it all in. After all, it's just one 23 year old woman behind this breadth of sonic expression. Georgia does her own vocals, background vocals AND the beats, as well as production.

Georgia parents have roots which run deep in the '60s and '70s progressive jazz scene, playing with the likes of Eddie Harris and Pharoah Sanders. Their innovation passed to their daughter, who approaches her labyrinth of keyboards, synthesizers and various instruments with a fresh perspective every time. This is truly an incredible blend of elements.
