Young Machetes

Seattle five-piece The Blood Brothers are back with their highly anticipated fifth album 'Young Machetes'.

Once again the band teamed with 'Crimes' producer, John Goodmanson (who also mixed and engineered the project) and, in addition, enlisted Guy Picciotto (famed Fugazi member). Together they inspired a renewed energy and confidence in the band. 'Young Machetes' steps up the intensity of its predecessor, with even more rapid-fire rhythms, thrashing guitars, and acerbic screaming.

The Blood Brothers come out swinging on "Set Fire To The Face On Fire," a song that does not fail to live up to its evocative title, and follow through with more rumbling, tightly wound free poetry on tracks like "We Ride Skeletal Lightning" and "You're The Dream Unicorn!". Vocalists Johnny Whitney and Jordan Blilie carry the songs with their mix of high-pitched shrieking/shouting and tense, eerie singing.

With 'Young Machetes', The Blood Brothers have officially proved that album after album, they will consistently bring challenging, innovative thoughts to the table that actually come out on the other end as awfully tight, intense and enjoyable songs.
