"Imagine the groundbreaking track 'Tomorrow Never Knows' by The Beatles expanded into a full-length album and you'd be close to describing the sound of Pedro's 'You, Me and Everyone'...
"Really lovely stuff! There's a lot to take in over the album's length, and it's got plenty of the detailed production that was required in successful folktronica. The beats are upbeat and compelling and there are also some great touches.”

Pedro is James Rutledge, former guitarist for The Pastels [one of Kurt Cobain's favourite groups], session player for Kevin Shields [My Bloody Valentine] and genuinely certified unsung indie music genius/hero. He fell into music while studying at Oxford, going on to play gigs alongside Badly Drawn Boy and ESG before releasing records with D.O.T, and then striking out on his own, deciding eventually on the nom-de-plume of Pedro.
After recording another EP, a film soundtrack and a collaboration with Kathryn Williams [described as a "landmark recording” by the Independent and the Times], he releases his first Pedro album, which receives fantastic reviews and leads to his music being licensed to labels like Domino, Moshi Moshi and Warp. In a tragic turn of events, one of the people that James plays music with goes missing and dies whilst on holiday. James stops playing in a band. James doesn't make any music for two years.
In this time, Prefuse 73, Dangermouse, Four Tet, Cherrystones and Koushik remix James' music for the 'Fear and Resilience' remix project, his music appears on some adverts, Melodic releases the 'Early Pedro' compilation and eventually James re-emerges, floating onto Prefuse 73's 'Surrounded By Silence' album. In '06, James finally recorded a new Pedro album, 'You, Me and Everyone'. He hopes people like it. We think you will.
