Rhythmethod proudly present the independently released debut full length from The Have, 'Back to the Burning Wreck'!

2006 ended with three awesome bits of news for The Have: "One Step Ahead" - a track from this album - had been selected to appear on the worldwide release of EA game 'Burnout 2007'; the song "Back to the Burning Wreck" was chosen to appear in the upcoming 'Back Of The Y' movie 'The Devil Dared Me To'; AND they were accepted into SXSW for the THIRD time - a record for a NZ band!

Never a group to slow down, The Have launched into '07 with a critically acclaimed performance at the Big Day Out, scheduled their full-length debut's release and have been slogging around the North Island during March 2007 with Revolver.

'Back to the Burning Wreck' was recorded in '06 in The Lab Studios in Mt Eden, AK, and produced by acclaimed US producer Barrett Jones [Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Evermore]. The hook up happened when Barrett's agent saw The Have perform at the '05 SXSW and knew Barrett would love them. For The Have, originally from Wanganui, it was the ultimate compliment to be working with an international producer of Barrett's stature, giving his advice for their songs.

As such, 'Back to the Burning Wreck' highlights that signature '70s-styled rock sound of The Have, while broadening their palette, bringing a new depth to their rockier moments and a new clarity to their songwriting.

SXSW has been a happy hunting ground for The Have, with the '04 festival providing a magical moment for the band, when they were selected alongside 10 other bands in a 'Best Of SXSW 2004' feature in UK industry mag 'Music Week'. All of the other bands were from North America, including the likes of The Killers, TV On The Radio and The Dears.

"It's been a long time since I had seen a great rock n' roll show… [and] I would be just as quick to proclaim them as rock n' roll as hell… it's a Texas rock n' roll tradition to spit beer on bands we dig to show appreciation; theirs was the only show during SXSW where I had to wipe my camera off.”
- US writer Audrey Edwards, in Rip It Up

"...the most promising rock band in the country.”
- Varsity.co.nz
