So So Modern are one of the hottest young kiwi indie bands - Low Hum darlings, and international touring artists, this Wellington-formed band of merry young men have blazed a trail through the underground while building a strong fanbase. Having self-released a handful of self-produced and created EPs through word of mouth and at their gigs, So So Modern now offer their fantastic recording 'Friendly Fires'.

The group approach their indie rock with a refreshingly electro bent: each of the duelling guitarists also play synthesizers, there's plenty of vocoder and all four of the band sing - including one of the most kickin' young drummers in the country.

So So Modern also features one Grayson Gilmour, who has also built a strong underground following with his solo material, having released no less than 4 albums since '02, including the acclaimed 'You Sleep We Creep' early in '07.

The group claim influence from mathematical theology, economic cosmology, electric psychology, atomic vocabulary, chemical programmery, aural pleasury, collective jammery, at-night skateboardery, urban foolery and revolutionary ecstacy.
