No sooner had Ray Price got a foothold in the Country music charts than it seemed that nothing less than the Top Ten was good enough for him - between 1952 and 1960 only three of his chart entries failed to make it past number ten, not a problem when four others hit the Number One spot. His continual innovation and daring has gone on to sustain an enviable career even amongst the giant talents which abound in Country music.The 'Honky Tonk' Ray Price is very much in evidence on this collection, which opens with a run of no less than nine Country chart hits. The Cherokee Cowboys are given their chance to sparkle on "Steel Guitar Jubilee" and "Back Up And Push", whilst The Jordanaires make a notable contribution to the two songs of faith, "Peace In The Valley" (not a million miles away from The Jordanaires contribution to Elvis Presley's rendition around this period) and "The Old Rugged Cross".
