Ivo Papasov, nicknamed Ibryama, is a Bulgarian clarinettist, who leads the Ivo Papazov Wedding Band in performances of jazz-infused Stambolovo music.
He is one of the premier creators of the genre known as "wedding band" music in Bulgaria. Steeped in the Balkan tradition the style moulds together traditional and modern instruments for an uplifting east meets west uptempo feel.
Papasov's album 'Dance of the Falcon' features modern takes of old classics and traditional tunes. In the artists own words "these are tunes which you should play when you're feeling good, during the best moments of your life." Be sure to check out the outstanding rework of the Pink Panther tune. A real highlight of the album!
Papasov and his band have toured the United States several times. In 2005 Papasov won the Audience Award from the BBC's Radio3 World Music Awards.
