Lady Gasoline

Chris Singleton is a Dublin-born, London-based musician obsessed with classic pop music. He
writesgems of songs drenched in melody. He released his debut album Twisted City in 2007 taking the
DIY approach. It wasn't long before people took notice: quirky gigs on London public transport - on a
bus, a boat, a tube and a taxi - led to widespread coverage on BBC and ITV; a distribution deal with
Universal, national airplay and serious plaudits in both the UK and Ireland.
Lady Gasoline is about the love, lust, anger, joy and frustration that accompany relationships - as told
through a mix of musical genres. Gloriously flitting between eras, the album takes us from glam, to
electropop , to indie. Including tribute to the Velvet Underground, appropriately titled Lou Reed.
Lady Gasoline is a character of sorts: the common thread that helps the record hang together. In
Chris' words, "she's a sort of super-muse - she walks all over the record, leaving her bootprints on
every track." As she does so, she brings with her a heady mix of desire, frustration, sex,
conversations, love and above all, some incredible tunes.
