The thrilling sound of his tenor voice reached every seat in the house; his vocal technique was impeccable; his stage presence honest and touching.

For the first time, this unique new DVD features Luciano Pavarotti in live opera performances from his greatest triumphs at the Metropolitan Opera, New York - no other DVD collection offers Pavarotti exclusively in staged performances. Classic excerpts include arias, duets and ensembles from operas including La Bohème, La traviata, Lucia di Lammermoor, Rigoletto, and L'elisir d'amore; the performances are conducted by the Metropolitan Opera's music director James Levine and Richard Bonynge, who both played central roles in Luciano Pavarotti's operatic career.
