Volume On

Blurring the line between production team and band, Tanlines are equally influenced by studio pop of the 1980s and 90s and underground dance music from cultures around the world. Less of a compilation than an excellent primer to the gorgeously off-kilter beautifully vivid world of Jesse Cohen and Eric Emm aka Tanlines, Volume On is a glorious 2cd sampling of richly diverse and breathtakingly accomplished pop which straddles the fine line between indie rock and the sweaty dancefloor.

Tanlines first emerged in 2008, getting some attention for their first track, a playful, synth-led remix of Telepathe's 'Chrome's On It'. Since then, they have also done remixes for El Guincho, The Tough Alliance, Glasser, Au Revoir Simone and Angel Deradoorian of the Dirty Projectors.

Gathering together a host of EP's, compilation tracks, long deleted singles, remixes and never before heard songs on CD for the very first time, "Volume On" serves as a handy guide to Tanlines' genre to date. 18 tracks of remixes, 12's from compilations and a great assortment of Tanlines paraphernalia across 2 CDs.
