The Man Who Sold Himself (Mediabook)

'The Man Who Sold Himself' is the third album from the alliance between drummer Gavin Harrison and 05Ric, the multi-instrumentalist, singer and extended range bass player. The recording is presented as a double-disc set, featuring the CD as well as a 5.1 mix on DVD - allowing fans to enjoy the intricate complexities of this ten-track creation in the full glory of surround sound.

Best known for his work with Porcupine Tree, Gavin (voted best Progressive Drummer four years in a row in Modern Drummer Magazine's readers poll) has also played extensively with King Crimson as well as providing session drumming for a host of other respected artists. However, it his work with Ric that has allowed him to develop some of the music that he has formulated outside these projects.

Ric uses his voice, extended range bass and guitars to turn his love of sound into sonic tapestries. His singing, virtuoso playing and a chance meeting with Gavin has led to one of the most interesting and complex musical collaborations in recent years.

'The Man Who Sold Himself', which was written over the course two years and recorded in mid-2011, is the duo's first release since 'Circles' in 2009. Brimming with melodic flair, pulsating rhythms and all-round artistry of the highest order, it pushes the barriers of what was thought possible in progressive rock further out than ever before.
