Joe Ascione (1961-2016) was born in Brooklyn, New York and is a jazz drummer. He started playing at 2 years old. He got his first drum set when he was 4 years old and was playing professionally when he was 12. He was also a roadie for Buddy Rich and was influenced (besides Buddy) by Gene Krupa and Philly Joe Jones
