From early small group jazz to later recordings with the great Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Shavers' trumpet could be both hot and cool. He had wonderful technique and control, as well as fire in his belly. Sometimes he could be bad. Here only the very, very good Shavers is on display - a great trumpeter.
