It's time to take you to the movies with AVID Entertainments latest addition to the Essential Collection…Glenn Miller At The Movies.
We could have just thrown together a compilation of assorted film theme music and it would have been brilliant of course, but we didn't, perhaps next time! However, AVID being AVID and the home of all things Glenn Miller we have painstakingly gathered together all the great mans music featured in the movies and here we present it for your audio and visual delight! Miller was convinced that it was appearing in the films Sun Valley Serenade and Orchestra Wives that had firmly established his name internationally rather than the success of the classic In The Mood. An indication of just how important he viewed the film industry. We must remember of course the power and influence that the cinema had back in the 30's and 40's before the era of television. Audience attendance ran into millions week in and week out.
Featured here are songs by such legendary songwriters of the period as George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen and Harry Warren.
