Holy Ghost!

Holy Ghost! is a DJ duo from Brooklyn, NY, formed by Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser of the now-defunct group Automato. Presently they are backed by a full live band for their tours. They are currently signed to DFA and have previously released a 12" single.

Alex Frankel's cool, reserved, yet subtly emotional vocals and the duo's solid knack for no-bullshit dance grooves are served well by a consistent mood of tense detachment-- the sort of mildly intriguing disconnect that comes with the combination of upbeat synthpop and downbeat lyrical ennui.

As slippery and elusive as this album's thrills can be, they'll eventually fall into place, one track at a time.
