Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, firstly as part of Bill Monroe's famous Blue Grass Boys, then as an act in their own right, are two of Bluegrass' most important figures. Their early work with Monroe and subsequent records with the Foggy Mountain Boys laid the blueprint for Bluegrass and the best of that material is to be found on this release.

100 tracks are included in this set which makes it the most concise release by Flatt & Scruggs in the marketplace.
