A Silent Song

This long awaited new album from Scotland's national treasure ArchieFisher is a testament to his unfading depth and prowess as a singer and guitarist. A Silent Song was recorded in America (Minneapolis and the Catskills) with accompaniment from some fine American and European players. The tracks combine new originals with choice songs from tradition and by other writers. Although solidly rooted in Scottish music, the tracks transcend the Celtic milieu and effortlessly cross into other folk genres.
One of the forefathers of the early '60s Edinburgh folk scene, Archie Fisher was among the first to graft a new tradition-based lyricism and poetic vision onto the rich heritage of Scottish balladry. In 2006 he was honored with an MBE from the Queen for his outstanding contributions to Scottish and British culture.
