St. Francis Duo is the name given to the collaboration of Stephen O'Malley, the avant-drone guitar mage of Sunn O))), KTL, and Steve Noble, who is quite simply one of the best, most inventive drummers out there. The two whip up a heavy storm with Noble darting in, out, and all around O'Malley's huge guitar sound.
Their sound is very universal and large, especially on Peacemaker Assembly, where it is easy to see the amount of time and energy they put into each track as they progress from start to finish with a psychedelic and natural mellow through to a soaring grand sound.
Though there are only two tracks to this album, each song is 18-19 minutes long and is a real journey for the listener to sink into, and let their mind explore as the duo take them on a psychedelic trip.
