Martha High is one of the hardest working ladies in show business whose voice you have probably heard before, but unknowingly. She sang background vocals at some of the most notable performances by The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, whom she sang with for 30 years.

It was at a talent show that she was discovered by non-other than Bo Diddley; he was so impressed by her that he told a local upcoming band, The Jewels, all about this young talented singer he came across.
