Anagrams (LP & CD)

Stephen Steinbrink has spent most of his adult life absorbing and observing the world. The introspective nomad began writing pure songs in his late teens, when he left his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona, and started a lifestyle of constant and economical touring (including one massive Greyhound bus trek across the U.S.).

The title-track 'Anagrams' is a bright, bouncy, surfy song with glimmering guitars reminiscent of the sun gleaming off the ocean. It's a more straight forward tune for Steinbrink, who rose off of his more experimental sounds, but the buoyant aesthetic contrasts with darkly shaded lines which you will find scattered throughout this album.
