Undoubtedly one of THE albums of 2004, 'The Girl In The Other Room' features fantastic covers of Tom Waits, Joni Mitchell, Mose Alison songs, plus originals co-written with her husband, Elvis Costello.
WOW! Diana could have simply delivered another jazz album and been content, but here she gives it a twist. The covers she chose are fantastic - Mose Alison's "Stop This World", Tom Waits' "Temptation", Joni Mitchell's "Black Crow" are all stamped with that Krall trademark. However, it is the originals that really shine through - Diana wrote the music for them and then gave her thoughts to new husband Elvis Costello who has molded them into wonderful lyrics.
Long time stalwarts Jeff Hamilton and John Clayton accompany her on drums and bass (respectively) and invited guests include Christian McBride, Peter Erskine, Neil Larsen and Terri Lyne Carrington.
