Two things weigh heavily on Mark Kozelek's mind on his latest album under the Sun Kil Moon moniker: the garbage year that was 2016 and his looming 50th birthday. Common As Light And Love Are Red Valleys Of Blood is the latest album from Sun Kil Moon.It's a double album, and he recorded it with Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley (who he's worked with several times before).
It comes just months after his collaborative release with drone musician Jesu - with whom he'll be releasing a second joint album later this year - and 2015's Universal Themes.
