The journey towards opening of New Zealand's premier outdoor world music festival begins, with the release of the WOMAD 2017 compilation album.
The album provides a snapshot of what this wonderfully diverse music festival has to offer. The CD features 16 tracks from a selection of the more than 50 groups from over 30 countries who will perform at the festival from 17-19 March 2017.
The track list includes Archie Roach, The Specials, Sinkane, Parov Stelar, The Hot 8 Brass Band, Bebel Gilberto and many more.
In-short the WOMAD 2017 compilation CD is the perfect precursor to 'the world's festival' in Taranaki's idyllic setting of the Bowl of Brooklands.
