'Kahungunu Maranga' is in Te Reo Māori, flavoured with a swing-jazz sound and a touch of country. Toni Huata's beautiful harmonies and arrangement of of waiata written by her forefathers, are an ode to tīpuna, whānau and Iwi within the spirit of love and their legacy.

'Ko Wai Ka Hua' is a love jazz ballad written for Toni's grandmother Ngaro Rangi and the 28th Māori Battalion. 'Te Māori e' commemorates the Te Māori exhibition in the 1980's, 'Whakarongo a tai' celebrates connections to Pacific cousins and origins, 'Ngā Tukemata' is performed by Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga.

Written by Toni's grandfather 'Te Okanga Kahutapere (Aussie) Huata', 'Ō Tākitimu' is a song of encouragement for Kahungunu people to rise up.

Uplifting and full of heart and spirit, 'Ō Tākitimu' is poignant in it's timing, as Ngāti Kahungunu will be hosting Te Matatini 2017 for the second time since 1983. 'Mohaka' has a country feel, stirring fond memories from a childhood of waiata and line dancing. 'Ngā Rori' is a delicate waltz taking you on a journey through the winding roads of Mohaka.

Working alongside notable producer Paddy Free once again, with her rendition of these songs, Toni Huata takes you back to her roots and her core love for her family and Iwi - Ngāti Kahungunu.
