Grinderman are a garage rock band formed by Nick Cave, Warren Ellis from the Dirty 3, Martyn P Casey from the Bad Seeds, and Jim Sclavunos from the Cramps and Bad Seeds.
The band are foul-mouthed, noisy, hairy, and damn well old enough to know better. They have created an album of gritty punk, sleazy rock 'n' roll and blues that makes for a joyous yet uneasy listen. Cave plays guitar in the group; he has rarely (if ever) recorded with the instrument, and his admittedly primitive playing has changed the sound of the group's music.
