Melkweg (LP)

In 2017 the Dutch composer, electronic musician and producer Mitchel Van Dinther, better known by his stage name Jameszoo, opened the Amsterdam Dance Event with a very special collaboration with Jules Buckley and the Grammy Award winning Metropole Orkest at the iconic Melkweg concert hall.

Accompanied by the 49-piece Metropole Orkest, Buckley finds disarming beauty in the discord of Jameszoo's com­positions with a striking mixture of electronics and strings, and an enormous flair for the dramatic.

Jameszoo released his first album, Fool, on Brainfeeder in 2016. Critics praised the dense, playful electronics - which Jameszoo himself describes as "naïve computer jazz" - and the sounds emitted from the album seemed to suggest an artist whose creativity was impossible to contain. Perhaps it's inevitable that Jameszoo opted to set his sights beyond studio electronics for his next release.
