Crystal Lake are making a grand return to the international metal music scene with their 7th album The Weight of Sound. Emerging from Japan, the band has built themselves a global following, touring worldwide while gaining traction through their powerful and energetic music. Releasing music in English, the quintet has managed to build themselves an international following throughout the years while releasing a total of 6 records since 2002.

Their newest record, The Weight of Sound, is, rather than inspired by certain aspects, a reflection on the band's journey and their way of life throughout their history, as shared by founder YD: "Before I realised it, Crystal Lake has been active for 23 long years. People often say, "time flies," but the truth is that we've carved out a long history together with friends, bandmates, and fellow musicians sharing blood, sweat, and countless struggles to build this band. That is an undeniable fact, and my pride. Each note we play becomes harmony, and that harmony becomes music. Playing that music together with comrades is what makes a band. And the music a band creates can give birth to a new culture. Our new album The Weight of Sound is a reflection of that way of life."

A feeling of community and togetherness is also reflected on the record through the various features the band worked on - from the opening track "Everback" feat. David Simonich from Signs of The Swarm to the dark, yet alluring "Dystopia", which features Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage. With "BlüdGod" (feat. Taylor Barber) originally released in May 2024, the record reflects a rather long journey and process of creation that surely was worth the wait for fans and new listeners alike.
