Rooted in real-life stories, cultural pride and deep whakapapa, Te Wehi has built a connection with audiences through music that feels honest, relatable and unmistakably his own. What began as a creative outlet has grown into one of Aotearoa's most compelling independent success stories.

Te Wehi has always taken things as they come, taking pride in learning every part of the journey, a reflection of the humility and authenticity that have become hallmarks of both the artist and the music. His self-produced sound has connected with thousands of listeners across Aotearoa and beyond, while his down-to-earth approach saw him consistently hold the number one position on the Aotearoa Music Charts throughout 2025.

Following a huge 2025 that saw him perform on the main stages of Homegrown and Rhythm & Vines, as well as support L.A.B on their New Zealand and Australian tour, Te Wehi teamed up with producer Kings to create his debut album, I'm Home.

That momentum has continued into 2026. At the 2026 Aotearoa Music Awards, Te Wehi took home both Te Manu Taki Taketake o te Tau | Best Roots Artist and Te Iti Rearea o te Tau | Breakthrough Artist of the Year. He also opened the awards ceremony with a powerful performance of Ready to Ride alongside frequent collaborator Hori Shaw, delivering one of the standout moments of the night.
