Coldplay's introspective, intelligent, sincerely emotional Brit-pop music sets them apart from the pack. "...a superb collection of sonically and lyrically adventurous songs that have the kind of hooks that burrow into your brain on a first hearing and a depth that resonates long afterward."

Coldplay's introspective, intelligent, sincerely emotional Brit-pop music sets them apart from the pack. Somewhere in between the confident, vulnerable guitar playing of Jonny Buckland, the melodic bass line of Guy Berryman, thoughtful drumming of Will Champion, and lead Chris Martin's stark, tenor vocals are answers for the soul.

Coldplay emerged in 2000 with the breakthrough single "Yellow" and swiftly became one of the most popular bands of the 21st century. Their debut album, 'Parachutes' featured three more big singles and went multi-platinum in several countries, going on to earn Coldplay their first Grammy award.

In August 2002, the group topped the success of their debut album with their sophomore effort, 'A Rush of Blood to the Head', which achieved higher record sales and an increased public profile. It earned them three MTV Video Music Awards, a Grammy Award for "Best Alternative Album", and a Grammy for "Clocks" as "Song of the Year" in 2004. The band also won, (for the second time), the BRIT Awards for best British group and best British album.

But the proof is in the pudding - take a listen to "Daylight", "The Whisper" and "The Scientist" or any of the singles and you will hear how truly inspired the band were when they recorded 'A Rush of Blood to the Head'.

"It's an even better album than the first, a superb collection of sonically and lyrically adventurous songs that have the kind of hooks that burrow into your brain on a first hearing and a depth that resonates long afterward."
- Hollywood Reporter

"…you can feel, hear, and touch the blood, sweat, and tears behind each song.."
- All Music

"…they surpass everything they've done up to this point, making first-rate guitar rock with some real emotional protein on its bones."
- Rolling Stone

"Displaying a cohesion rarely heard in albums these days, 'A Rush of Blood' bobs from one majestic little high to another."
- Entertainment Weekly

"Fierce and noble and fragile and genuinely moving, 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' is a lovely furnace of searing goodness..."
- Playlouder

"May well come to be regarded as the best British rock album since 'OK Computer'…"
- Uncut

"The key to 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' is to be found not in Martin's presence, but in the intensity, dynamism, verve and style that Coldplay have now nailed, when comparisons to Radiohead, Echo and The Bunnymen and, perhaps most pertinently, U2's 'Unforgettable Fire', manifest themselves in a series of killer strides.
- Dot Music

"It's an album of outstanding natural beauty, an organic, wholesome work."
- New Musical Express
