Playing an infectious, art-influenced brand of proto-punk indie rock, the young NZ quartet Cut Off Your Hands has been riding high on a wave of critical acclaim and industry attention.

"Like the Stooges playing Strokes songs, this garage-rock foursome brought hyper-enthusiastic indie rock to the party."
- NME

"Almost a perfect band, as far as the powers at be at DiS are concerned."
- DrownedInSound.com

"To call their show spastic would be an understatement. The whole band shakes like a Jell-o mold."
- Pitchfork

Since early '06, NZ band Cut Off Your Hands {nee Shaky Hands} has been riding high on a wave of critical acclaim and industry attention. Playing an infectious, art-influenced brand of proto-punk indie rock, the young quartet veritably bounce off each other with poptastic melodies, jagged guitars and jerky stop-start rhythmic patterns.

Settled in London, the band have barely had time to reflect upon their recent touring escapades in Aus, at SxSW and NYC. With appearances on BBC1 and BBC6 with Steve Lamacq and a plethora of energetic, barnstorming shows, laden with industry heavyweights and a smattering of music gentry, Cut Off Your Hands seem nigh on unstoppable.

Their second EP 'Blue on Blue', was recorded in London with none other than Bernard Butler of Suede, who has produced albums or singles with The Libertines, The Verve and Manic Street Preachers. That's good company…

"Awesomely angular, NZ's new finest purveyors of controlled chaos."
- Rolling Stone
