Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) steps into the limelight as the first female President of the United States, a position vacated by her now-dead husband Frank (Kevin Spacey). Despite the power that the seat holds, Claire finds herself without friends or allies within and outside the White House. Constantly biting at her heels are the kingmaker siblings Annette (Diane Lane) and Bill (Greg Kinnear) Shepherd, Annette's son Duncan Shepherd (Cody Fern), and Vice President Mark Usher (Campbell Scott). On top of all her troubles, Claire also struggles to escape Frank's long shadow.
