After recording their debut album which drew comparisons to artists Mercury Rev, Grandaddy and Flaming Lips, Midlake started listening to artists such as Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac and America. 'The Trials of Van Occunpanther' takes many of its musical cues from the 70's, influenced and moved by these artists while holding onto the sound they created in their debut album.
This limited edition Australia and New Zealand only double disc featuring tracks never before released, plus some rare tracks from their debut EP.
